Donating appreciated stock can be a smart way to support the Luce Center while maximizing tax benefits. You’ll receive a tax-deductible receipt for the full value on the day of transfer and avoid capital gains taxes—a win-win for you and the mission.

Please notify us of your gift, as brokers are not permitted to share donor names. If you hold paper certificates, you may mail them with a signed Stock & Bond Certificate‍Transfer Kit (available at Vanguard.com), or contact us and we’ll send one to you.

In most cases, gifts of appreciated assets are deductible up to 30% of your adjusted gross income, with excess carried forward for up to five years—please consult your tax advisor for details.

‍How to Make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)

If you are age 70½ or older, you can make a tax-free gift of up to $100,000 per year directly from your IRA to a qualified nonprofit—like the Clare Boothe Luce Center for Conservative Women. This type of gift, also known as a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), allows you to fulfill part or all of your required minimum distribution (RMD) without increasing your taxable income.
